Over the past century, our modern diet and lifestyle have dramatically altered the way we breathe—especially in the Western world. As bestselling author and pulmonary expert James Nestor explains in his book “Breath,” we are facing a global breathing epidemic.

The fast paced, high stress nature of modern life has caused many people to unconsciously adopt shallow, dysfunctional breathing patterns that leave their nervous systems stuck in a perpetual state of “fight or flight”.

Tragically, most people think that their constant state of stress, low energy and brain fog is “normal”.  They simply aren’t aware of how significantly this silent epidemic is wreaking havoc on their mental, emotional and physical health. According to a recent study over 83% of people suffer from some form of dysfunctional breathing — and have “forgotten” how to breathe as nature intended.

The consequences can be quite serious. Dysfunctional breathing degrades our moment-to-moment well-being and leads to elevated cortisol, higher stress levels, weight gain, depression, impaired mental performance, and much more. Over time, these patterns can result in a host of chronic health issues, including a weakened immune system, high blood pressure & cardiovascular problems, that can significantly reduce our life expectancy.

Aside from the detrimental effects to our physiological health there’s also another important and often overlooked truth: If we’re not breathing optimally and consciously, we can not reach our full mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual potential.

Fortunately once we become aware of these patterns, we can begin to consciously change them. Through simple and consistent breathing practices and exercises we can restore our optimal breathing patterns to dramatically improve the quality of our health and our life.

What Inspired Breath OS

For the past two decades, I’ve taught thousands of students about the power of transformative practice.  And, of all the tools I’ve explored and studied, one practice stands out above the rest—an Integral approach to breathwork. 

An Integral approach to breathwork can enhance almost every other practice and activity in our daily lives. It improves focus, enhances cognitive function, boosts physical performance, deepens meditation, improves sleep, and so much more.

I’ve traveled around the world researching dozens of breathwork traditions, schools, and approaches in search of the most effective tools and techniques that I could use to optimize my breathing and  share with others.

What makes Breath OS unique is it full spectrum, Integral approach to breath work. You’ll learn the fundamentals of how to restore your optimal breathing patterns as well as a complete toolkit of the most effective practices in a format that is flexible and adaptable to any lifestyle. You’ll learn art, science and spirit of Breath work through a holistic lens that, when used correctly, has the power to benefit virtually every area of your life.

The course will be delivered over 8 Weeks with approximately 60 Minutes of core training content each week, along with another 3 unique practices that focus on a specific area or dimension of your daily life. We encourage students to commit to a minimum of  5-10 minutes per day of Breathwork practice to start out with. You can incrementally increase the time you cultivate your breathwork practice as it deepens and you feel inspired.
