Breathwork is a deeply experiential practice that may involve intense physical and emotional release. As such, it is not recommended for individuals with the following conditions:
A history of epilepsy or seizure disorders
Cardiovascular issues, including angina, heart attack, or high blood pressure
Glaucoma, retinal detachment, or osteoporosis
Significant recent injuries or surgeries
Other physical limitations or conditions requiring medical supervision
Severe mental health conditions or those using major medications
Personal or family history of aneurysms
Pregnant individuals and those with asthma should consult their primary care physician before engaging in breathwork practices. Additionally, individuals with sleep disorders (e.g., narcolepsy, cataplexy, night terrors) or dissociative disorders, including PTSD flashbacks, are advised to proceed with caution, as breathwork may trigger these conditions.
Please note that breathwork is not a substitute for psychotherapy. However, it may complement and deepen psychotherapy, as well as other healing and personal growth efforts.
By engaging with the Breath OS website and participating in the course, you acknowledge and accept the above recommendations and agree to our Terms of Use.
